v1.15.0 — Groundwork for keeping federal rules up to date

Internal plumbing, with no change to what you see. Federal program rules (Express Entry's skilled-worker, Canadian-experience and skilled-trades streams) can now be served from this project's versioned government-data store instead of only from figures built into the application, so a published rule update can take effect without a full release. It is switched off in production today, and every result still comes from the same engine and the same figures as before — proven identical across the full reference set. Nothing about eligibility, scoring, your results, or paid access changed.

v1.14.0 — A report you can keep, and refunds that actually take access back

Unlocked results now have a Download results report (PDF) — a readable document with your pathway findings, every official government page the criteria were read from and when each was last checked, the versions used, and the standing disclaimers. It does not include your questionnaire answers, because a report is something people forward and keep. “Download my data” is still there and unchanged, now labelled as the JSON data export it has always been. Separately, a refunded or charged-back purchase now correctly ends access to results; previously it did not. A partial refund does not, since a partial refund does not undo the purchase.

v1.13.0 — Pathway results now require a one-time purchase

Viewing pathway results now needs a signed-in account and a single payment. The questionnaire itself stays free and still works without an account, and your answers stay in your browser until you choose otherwise. The price is shown before you are sent to pay, the charge happens once, and it is not a subscription. Payment is handled by Stripe; card details are entered on Stripe's own page and never reach this site. You can export or delete everything held for your account, including the purchase record, from the Account page. Nothing about how pathways are assessed changed in this release.

v1.12.0 — Know when a tracked pathway is worth re-checking

If you track a pathway, this tool now tells you when something behind it has changed since your assessment ran — for example when it has re-checked one of the official pages that pathway's criteria came from, or when your assessment is more than six months old. You can dismiss a notice or bring it back, and you can turn these off. These notices mean something is worth re-reading. They do not mean a government rule changed, that your result would now be different, or anything about whether you qualify. Re-running an assessment always saves a new copy and keeps the old one.

v1.11.0 — Track a pathway and record your progress

If you sign in and save an assessment, you can now choose to track a pathway from it and keep your own notes, status and checklist against it. Tracking is your personal record — it is not an application, not advice, and not a sign that you qualify. Each tracked pathway also shows the official government pages its criteria were read from, the date this project last checked each page, and a read-only summary of what that assessment could not confirm. Ticking checklist items does not change whether you qualify for anything. The questionnaire stays free and works without an account.

v1.10.0 — Public website and admin dashboard

A public homepage explaining what this tool does and does not do, and an internal operations dashboard. Pathway results stayed free in this release; the paid unlock was built but not yet switched on.

v1.9.1 — Saved assessments and account dashboard

Signed-in visitors can choose to save an assessment, reopen it from Account, edit answers, and run a new assessment without losing the previous result. Completing the questionnaire still does not store a copy unless you explicitly save. Later maintenance on the same version added a home continue panel and trusted Vercel preview origins, an official-source refresh, a paid-results gate that was coded but not yet switched on, and a public website plus admin ops dashboard.

v1.9.0 — Optional applicant accounts

You can sign in with a magic link sent to your email, download a copy of your account data, and delete your account. The assessment itself stays available without an account. Signing in does not save an assessment by itself.

v1.6.1 — Nova Scotia Fees and Source Maintenance

Adds the Nova Scotia Nominee Program application fees announced for September 1, 2026 — $1,000 for the worker streams and $2,000 for the entrepreneur stream. These are shown for information only and never affect whether a pathway matches you; they appear from the date they take effect, not before. Also corrects a New Brunswick source link and improves how the tool detects when a government website is blocking automated checks rather than having genuinely changed.

v1.6.0 — Independent Audit Closure

Closes an independent external audit end to end. Corrects federal CRS language points at CLB 4, Quebec PEQ French and diploma rules, a British Columbia stream that did not exist, Ontario licence and part-time experience handling, Alberta's "in Alberta" experience windows, the Federal Skilled Trades certificate route, and how experience with an unrecorded skill level is treated. Results now separate requirements you did not meet from questions we have not asked yet.

v1.5.0 — Nationwide Rule-Accuracy Review

• British Columbia: corrected the regional scoring structure, the language-score requirement for certain job offers, the work-experience eligibility rule for Skilled Worker, and the education and work-experience requirements for the Entrepreneur programs.
• New Brunswick: corrected scoring-grid and language-verification information for the Strategic Initiative and Skilled Worker streams.
• Saskatchewan: corrected occupation and language requirements on several streams after the government moved its program information to a new web address.
• Ontario: refreshed current program-status information and corrected an occupation-group boundary for the trades streams.
• Manitoba: corrected settlement-funds and language requirements on several streams.
• Northwest Territories: removed an incorrect funds requirement, added a missing alternate path for the Francophone stream, and corrected an advertising-related figure.
• Prince Edward Island: corrected two scoring-grid values.
• Yukon and Newfoundland and Labrador: reviewed against current sources; where official government pages still genuinely disagree with each other, that is now stated directly.
• Alberta: confirmed the Opportunity Stream's occupation list is current.
• Source citations were updated throughout to point directly at official government pages.

v1.4.0 — Nationwide Government-Data Platform

• The government facts and figures behind most jurisdictions' pathways are now sourced from a versioned data platform with a tracked official source for each one, instead of being embedded directly in the assessment code. This does not change how any assessment is evaluated or what results you see — see the note above.

v1.3.3 — Final Language-State Cleanup

• Clearing your language test scores now also removes the converted CLB/NCLC summary immediately, instead of leaving a stale result on screen (and in your saved progress) from before you cleared them.

v1.3.2 — Maintenance Release: Stale Data Cleanup, Language Score Validation, Focus Trap Hardening

• Switching your language test type no longer carries over the previous test's scores, including a French result that could otherwise linger after switching to an English test.
• Language test scores are now checked against each test's real range (e.g. IELTS 0–9) before you can continue, instead of accepting any number.
• The Review page now shows a friendly language test name (e.g. "PTE Core") instead of the internal value.
• Answering "No" to a job offer after filling in employer details now clears those details, instead of leaving them saved unseen.
• A work history entry added and left completely blank is no longer saved or counted.
• The "Start over" confirmation dialog now keeps keyboard focus inside itself more reliably, and returns focus to the button that opened it.

v1.3.1 — Production Patch: Study/PGWP Fix, Confirmation Dialog, Score Honesty

• Fixed the Study in Canada / PGWP question, which could not be answered "Yes" due to a state-handling defect.
• "Start over" now asks for confirmation before deleting your in-progress answers, instead of deleting them immediately.
• Results page pathway scores now say "not enough information to calculate this score" instead of showing a misleading "0/100" when required information hasn't been answered yet.
• The Review page now shows friendly labels (e.g. "Bachelor's degree") instead of internal values (e.g. "bachelors").
• Added a sitemap and search-engine reference usable ahead of a permanent domain being configured.
• Fixed a rare layout issue that could cause horizontal scrolling on the results page on very narrow (320px) screens.

v1.3.0 — Recommendation Accuracy, Results Redesign, and Production Hardening

• Fixed a classification issue affecting several pathways across five provinces where an unanswered mandatory question could, in rare cases, let a pathway be shown as a match when it should have shown as needing more information instead.
• Corrected several jurisdiction-specific scoring and eligibility figures against their official published guides: an investment threshold, a language-scoring rule, a missing eligibility gate, and a business-visit-length requirement, among others.
• Redesigned the results page's "strengths" panel to show only pathways your profile genuinely and fully matches, and renamed the "may improve competitiveness" panel to make clear it lists unanswered questions, not advice.
• Added a standard robots.txt and sitemap.xml, and canonical URLs on every page.
• Fixed several text-contrast and touch-target sizing issues, and a rare layout issue on very narrow (320px) screens.
• Corrected the standard disclaimer to reference provincial and territorial criteria, not only federal.

v1.2.0 — Results Capability, Observability, and Release Engineering

• Results page: a summary of per-section counts, collapsible sections, and clearer, non-comparative wording.
• Review step: now shows the applicant's target jurisdiction and, where applicable, the selected stream, before submission.
• Results can now be downloaded as JSON or printed, entirely client-side — no new server storage or shareable links.
• Server-side error monitoring (no browser tracking, no session replay, no PII collection) — inactive until an operator configures it.
• Release engineering: automated GitHub Release notes generated from this changelog, plus a non-blocking check for undeployed work drifting ahead of the latest release tag.

• New Brunswick: modeled the February 3, 2026 restriction on Expressions of Interest and Invitations to Apply for candidates whose employer is classified under NAICS 72 (Accommodation and Food Services), for the New Brunswick Skilled Worker and New Brunswick Express Entry streams.
• Federal Express Entry category-based selection: added Transport occupations to this tool's category roster and verification disclosure — no occupation-level (NOC) matching was added for any category.
• Replaced free-text province/territory targeting in the questionnaire with a controlled selection of the 13 provinces and territories, plus deterministic recognition of legacy free-text values saved by earlier drafts.
